We are making changes to our appointment system.
We have been reviewing our access and listening to your feedback over recent months and have made changes to our appointment system which we hope will improve the availability of appointments. As of 5th March 2018 we will be introducing a new appointment system which will consist of a combination of pre-bookable appointments and appointments which will become available for booking 14 days before, 7 days before, 3 days before, 2 days before and 1 day before as well as some same day appointments for urgent problems.
We ask that you familiarise yourself with our appointment system so you are aware of the available choices. If you are only available to attend on a set day or at a set time then we ask that you understand that you may have to wait longer for an appointment.
We would encourage all patients, where possible, to register for our Patient Online Service. Patient online will allow you to book or cancel appointments, order repeat prescriptions and view parts of your GP record. We would also like to remind you that you can do all of the above via our email address firstname.lastname@example.org PLUS requesting general advice or to request a fit note or private letter.
We ask that you please have reasonable expectations of the service and our staff. We try very hard to satisfy patients requests but this is not always possible. The NHS is a public service and there are constraints. We will of course continue to listen to your feedback and monitor the access to appointments over the next few months.
